Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults
The Parish provides a range of activities for children and teenagers. These include spiritual, catechetical and pastoral activities such as the Parish First Holy Communion Program, Children's Liturgy, the Children's Choir, Altar Serving etc. We are committed to the protection and safeguarding of all children, young people and vulnerable adults in accordance with the guidelines from the Archdiocese of Birmingham.
Child Protection OfficerEach Parish in the Archdiocese has to nominate a person to be responsible to the Child Protection Agency for the clearance of everyone who, in the course of their work for the Parish, has contact with children or vulnerable adults. This involves the completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Form and the Child Protection Officer examining certain documents to validate a person's identity. The DBS Form is then sent to the Criminal Records Bureau for checking.
