JOURNEY IN FAITH TESTIMONIALS - 2016
They had joined the Journey in Faith course, with other parishioners who were interested to know more about the faith, in September 2015. In December 2015 they were admitted to the order of Catechumenate and in February 2016 they went to Saint Chad's Cathedral for their Rite of Election. Finally in Marchthey became full member of God's Holy Family. Here is some of their testimony about their experiences of wanting to become a Catholic, the course and being received into the Church at Easter.
Thank you to Father Tony, Father David, Father Cornelius and Deacon Peter, and to all the Catechists, who guided us on the Journey in Faith this year. I have enjoyed the start of each session with a Mass and going to learn about and discuss many aspects of the Catholic Church in the Parish Centre. It is lovely to be made to feel so welcome and the Priests and Catechists were so generous in sharing their great knowledge and experience with us Catechumens.
Over the weeks we have made new friends as we have journeyed together, and no doubt we will look out for each other in future as we see each other at Mass and various events. Our Sponsors, I thank too, as both individually and collectively they were a great support for us. I have appreciated every week of the course and I have learned so much about God and His Church.
The service at St Chad's Cathedral was marvellous, it was good to go there with Father Tony and be together as a little group from Our Lady of Mount Carmel, with all the Catechumens from other Churches. I was so happy to be baptised and welcomed into the Catholic Church at the beautiful Easter Vigil. It has been a lovely, blessed Journey in Faith; thank you all, everyone who helped. .
